Chào mừng bạn đến Sài Gòn (Welcome to Saigon)

Alhamdulillah, me and kengkawans telah selamat menjejakkan kaki-kaki kami di Ho Chin Minh City a.k.a Saigon, Vietnam on Wednesday, 14 th April 2010 dan selamat juga kembali (dengan beratnyer 🙂  ) ke Kuala Lumpur on late Saturday night, 17 April 2010.

My immediate feeling as we arrived – thrilled and filled. Puas hati.

My immediate reaction – eh not bad bandar Ho Chin Minh nih… not as poor as I anticipated in my mind….

This trip was filled with loads of food 🙂 , jokes and laughter. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously to the max. Best sangat.

Lets share some photos  – The treasured moments that we seized and kept in our heart – forever!!

They say, life is not always fair, but at least me and friends had ‘Saigon’ to escape to eh 😛

As we arrived at the Saigon International Airport, our tour guide  yang sungguh comel and kind, ‘B’ (sebutan B macam baby la kot.. hehe) was already waiting for us. Our first stop was a restaurant called,  Halal Saigon for dinner. Halal restaurants, according to ‘B’ are only few in HCM, and this entree is one of the famous one kat sana.

Food dia – perghhh hingga menjilat jari !! Eventually, few of their chefs are from our homeland, patut ler ada asam pedas pelbagai…  So apa lagi, melantak ler… But my favourite – kerabu ubut kelapa!! Sungguh-sungguh sedap. I also recommend the vietnam coffee – have it with ice though. Ala ala kopi susu ais la. Vietnam is famous for their coffee, so must try.

Right after dinner, we checked in into hotel –

Hoang Phu Gia Hotel

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The very next day, we went to see the famous Cu Chi Tunnel. As many know, Vietnam adalah merupakan bekas negara perang and this Cu Chi tunnels were most sought for its history as it was digged and built by the Vietkong fighters and the villagers to fight the mighty Americans pada zaman dahulu kala.  You may read the history of Cu Chi tunnels H E R E .

Perjalanan dari Cu Chi tunnel back to the city took us another two hours. Along the way, we saw the typical kampung view with loads of motocycle. HCM punya sistem permotoran dia to me-lah, is a bit hire wire. But the strange part is that, its almost accident free. Selama 4 hari kat sana, tak de satu accident pun we all nampak. Padahal jalan dia punya la sibuk with their motocycles. Hmm… oh Malaysiaku boleh rupanya… 😛

By the time we reached the city, it was already at dinner time. That night we had dinner on a boat, ala ala cruise gitu 🙂 – Food looked sumptous but perut Hani nih allegic sikit to ‘was-was’ food, so makan ala ala jer la. Tak berani nak sentuh the chicken and beef even ‘B’ kept on assuring us its Halal 🙂

Muka-muka minah malaysia yang dah kepenatan….

Earlier on actually we dah singgah men-yopping sikit in between dinner time, but gambar terlupa snap. Maklum dah nama pun shopping kan, tapi tak pe.. nanti kita tengok gambar shopping kat lain jer lah k.

The very next day – The Mekong River trip. The Mekong River is one of the world’s 10th rivers in its river length and has great influences upon nature and societies of the Indo-china Peninsula.  I am not a big fan of history 🙂 , so please help yourself to some of the Mekong River history H E R E .

Share gambar boleh ler… ahaks. Background tuh Mekong River ler.

We then menyusur the sungai in a ‘perahu’ to visit the perkampungan there. This side of  the Mekong River, my guess is the poorer side of the HCM city. We saw how their famous sugar candy is being made here. We had some local fruit and lunch there.

You must see this ikan that we had for lunch. Kata ‘B’, nama ikan tuh – the elephant ear fish, erkss? 😀

Rasanya – sunggggguuuuhhh sedap, crispy and fresh. Go and try peeps. Lunch that day will definitely local Vietnam food, but it was alright. I like it.

While we were there also, satu kenangan abadi adalah kenangan menunggang kuda 😛 ala-ala tourist naik kuda ler. Tapi kesian sungguh nengok kuda tuh tau. hahaha

Right after lunch tadi, we then took the boat accrossed the Mekong River again to return to the mainland.

Jeng jeng jeng – on our way back from the very ‘hot’ trip to see the Mekong River and shop-shop there a-bit, we then headed on to my much awaited destination – Hard Rock Cafe !

Dan Hani telah berjaya membeli HRC bangle yang menjadi idaman hati 🙂 yee haaa!! suka sangat …

From HRC, we finally headed to the Ben Thanh Market – shopping time. Shopping la we all till hampir drop dead!! hahahaha. Sehingga menjilat jari gituh… meh la baca betapa bestnyer tempat nih di S I N I

Ben Thanh Market offers almost anything that you had in mind, from A to Z kinda thing. They are widely known for the kain-kain ela, sequins, bags, art decors, egg shell painting dan banyak lagi lah.. Tapi dekat sini kena pandai lah ber-bargain. Kata ‘B’, bargain till 60 to 70 percent. Hmm… berjayakah saya?? ahaks. 😛

Tapi puas hati sungguh dapat membeli barang for almost everybody back home… 🙂

Malam tuh pulak, we had dinner at …

As ‘halal’ as it looks, the food was delish as well.  Tuan punya kedai, cakap melayu ala ala Siam.. hahahha 😀

We had tom yam, kangkung belacan, ayam ala-ala rendang dan banyak lagi.. Rasa makan kat KL pun yea…

On our last day in HCM city – it was ‘acara bebas’… so apalagi, shopping lagi la we all… bagai nak rak we all shopping sampai usahkan USD dan VND yang habis licin, RM pun jalannn… ish ish ish…

As ‘B’ came and fetched us from the hotel to the airport, semua sudah kekenyangan dan kepenatan.. dan errrr kerinduann?? ke nak balik KL?  hehehe..

Beginilah keadaan saya kat airport – penattttt tapi happppyyyyyyyyy !!! 😀

Sila abaikan gambar-gambar bag-bag hasil borongan we all tuh kay… hehe 😀

Sehingga berjumpa lagi!!  errrrrr di mana gang?? 😀
